02 · Sustainability Resource Centers
Water first. Then everything water makes possible.
A Sustainability Resource Center is a phased set of village infrastructure where each piece makes the next possible — get clean water on site and suddenly a school can farm, a micro‑business can make building blocks, and a literacy class has somewhere to meet.
Each Resource Center is built in phases so that core infrastructure unlocks the next layer of opportunity. Every site addresses water, sanitation, basic literacy, community economic development, and environmental sustainability together rather than in isolation. As projects are completed and handed over, a Community Based Organization is formed to run, govern, and maintain the site for the long term.
Osewan Village, Kajiado County, Kenya
Phase 1 delivered a solar‑powered borehole feeding a 20,000‑litre elevated storage tank, livestock watering troughs, water distribution kiosks, a cloth washing area, a village WiFi network carrying free eLearning material, and a compressed earth block micro‑business. Phase 2 plans a Resource Training Center for adult literacy, year‑round children’s education, and regenerative agriculture training.
Oloolarroi Village and School, Kajiado County, Kenya
Oloolarroi sits on the Tanzania border between Namanga and Amboseli. The school serves 229 children across early years, primary, and secondary, and the kitchen serves up to 235 meals a day — for many pupils the only meal they can count on after three years of drought. Water is currently bought from a private borehole or trucked in from Namanga, which means the school cannot deliver the farming component of Kenya’s national curriculum. Delivered so far: two demonstration rocket stoves and an offline eLearning server. Planned Phase 1: a water project, dry toilets for the whole school, and a small regenerative farm with a greenhouse, gardens, poultry, and dairy.
